Valerie Hastings Gregory, Ed.D. Valerie's professional training and experience span curriculum and instruction, assessment, and school restructuring. Valerie has served as a teacher, assistant principal, central office administrator, adjunct professor, and staff member for the Center for Gifted Education and the School Leadership Institute at the College of William and Mary. At the Virginia Department of Education, Valerie provided leadership, technical assistance, and professional development for school restructuring initiatives.
In her doctoral studies in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership at the College of William and Mary, Valerie has studied extensively the conditions that foster transfer of professional development to sustained practice. Her research interests also include curriculum and instruction, differentiated learning, and the role of leadership in facilitating change.
Valerie is the author of Problem-Based Learning in Social Studies and Conditions That Support Transfer for Change, and co-author of The Learning Communities Guide to Improving Reading Instruction.
